In this tutorial I'll show you how to make your footage any shape you want without the hassle of using masks. In fact, all you need is premiere pro and a png image of the shape you want your footage to be. What if you’ve perfectly cropped out something in Adobe Premiere Pro, like a part of a text, so that it looks like you’re revealing the text from behind a mountain. In this case, great job! Looks epic. But what if it doesn’t work? Let’s look at 2 possible reasons to why it might not work. In the first example, you have the mask created and you have keyframed it to move along with the video and the mask opacity is set to 100%, but you haven’t actually cropped out anything inside your mask. To solve this, just simply change the value from 0% to 100% by clicking on 0% and typing it in or by clicking and dragging the number to the right. In the second example, you can see that this is already done. One of the values is set to 100%, the opacity is at 100% and the keyframes are created but it still doesn’t work. In this case, the problem is that the effects are applied from the top to the bottom, so the crop effect is not actually affecting the text. To solve this, simply drag-and-drop the crop effect up and above the text and it will work. If I didn’t solve your problem, I’ve actually created a whole playlist with short “cropping-videos” in Premiere Pro that I will link at the end of this video. In this quick tutorial I show you step by step how to add multiple masks in Adobe Premiere Pro. The first step is to add the alpha adjust effect to your video in the timeline. Adjust the opacity of the layer down to approximately 75%. Next, open your effect controls panel and select the pen tool (for a free hand shape) or one of the shape tools. Create a mask around the first object you want to mask out. Then create a second mask around the second object. 🎁 FREE browser extension to grow your YouTube channel: 🤍 If you want to crop out a part of a video in Adobe Premiere Pro, there are a couple of different ways to do it. 1. Crop 2. Crop with a mask 3. Using a sequence 4. Generate circle I'm going to quickly go through all of them. To use the crop-effect, go to "Effects" and search for "Crop". Drag and drop that effect onto your clip. Then go to the "Effect controls" panel and drag the numbers left or right (or click on a number, type in a specific value and hit enter). To crop with a mask, you add the same effect, but instead of changing these numbers, you click on one of the shapes (or create your own shape) and place it on the area you want to crop out. You can find more tutorials about masks in my Premiere Pro playlist. Link will be on the endscreen of this video. To use a sequence, simply create a sequence with the size that you want. Drag and drop your video into that sequence. (Click "Keep existing settings" in the popup window.) Change the "Position" and "Scale" so it covers the whole area. Then simply drag that sequence, from your "Project" tab onto the timeline of the other sequence. The forth option is to go to "Effects", search for "Generate" and drag and drop "Circle" onto your video. Change "Blending Mode" to "Stencil Alpha" and then just change "Radius" and "Position" the way you want it to crop. When the crop is done, you can move the whole video by going up to "Motion" and change the position. I hope this video helped you!
